Brand:
In 1996 we were gifted with a sweet little bar of homemade, oatmeal soap. We used it quickly, and wanting more, decided to try our hands at soap making in our own country kitchen. Family and friends were the first to receive our unevenly cut chunks of soap. We discovered beautiful molds, cosmetic clays and a never-ending array of essential oils. We were inspired with encouragement from our community to unleash our creative juices. We have since moved to a larger space and combined many variations of color, texture and aroma to offer an array of soap.
Process
From the beginning, we made a commitment to use only natural ingredients, sourced locally as much as possible. We do not use cheap synthetic fragrances. Our soap is scented with botanically derived essential oils only, which we add generously so you may experience the aroma down to the last sliver. Our cold process soap is made in small batches by stirring vegetable oils into a lye solution until thick. We then pour the solution into molds and let it sit undisturbed for a few days before turning it out and hand cutting the partially cured soap into bars. The cut bars of soap are then cured in our ventilated trays for three to four weeks before they are ready to use and will last longer if allowed to dry between uses. Because our soap is handmade in small batches to ensure freshness and quality, slight variations may occur.
